We Provide the Following Whitewater Gear:
– Paddle
– Personal Floatation Device (PFD)
– Helmet (not requred by the USFS on the Nantahala River)
– Splash Jacket
– Wetsuits (on the Nantahala River only)
What You Should Wear Rafting:
For Summer Trips:
– Swim Trunks/Swimsuit
– Water Shoes or Old Sneakers
– T-shirt and Shorts
– Sunscreen
– Sunglasses with a Strap
For Spring and Fall trips:
– Synthetic or Wool Sweater
– Wool Socks
– Knit Hat
Don’t Forget to Bring:
– A Dry Change of Clothes and Shoes
– Towels
Leave Behind:
– Jewelry and Watches
– Electronics
– Heavy Cotton Clothing like Jeans/Sweatshirts (these dry slowly and provide no warmth)
– Pets (dogs can raft on the Nantahala but must wear a Canine Floatation Device)
– Flip Flops. Sandals MUST have a heel strap.
– Car Keys (these can be left with the desk person at each outpost)
